5G‑enabled Module for Polaris™ Bronchoscopic Navigation Robot
1、5G Low‑Latency Remote Control: It achieves hand‑eye synchronization between operation commands and surgical images. The catheter provides sub‑millimeter‑level manipulation accuracy, and clinical validations of remote respiratory endoscopic surgeries over a distance of up to 5,000 kilometers have been completed.2、AI‑empowered Integrated Navigation: Equipped with the robot’s native AI algorithms, the system automatically reconstructs 3D bronchial trees from patients’ CT images and generates optimal insertion paths by AI. Intra‑operative autonomous AI spatial registration compensates for lung deformation caused by respiration and improves the localization accuracy of peripheral pulmonary nodules.3、Integration of Embodied Intelligence and Magnetic Navigation: The 5G communication link is deeply coupled with magnetic positioning and flexible manipulator control. The robot retains full intra‑operative positioning and flexible steering capabilities under remote operation. Multiple real‑world 5G‑assisted remote human clinical surgeries have been accomplished for the first time domestically. This technology serves as a core component of the key special project under China’s 14th Five‑Year National Key R&D Program.4、Domestically‑developed Full Core Intellectual Property: It supports new modes of tiered medical care and telemedicine, and can be applied for remote expert guidance, hands‑on remote surgery and cross‑hospital clinical training.
